Conférence de l’EAIE
European Association for International Education - Antwerp September 2008

The Higher Education System of the French-speaking Community

Belgian is divided into three Communities (Flemish, French-speaking and German-speaking), which are responsible for the higher education system.

The French-speaking Community comprises two kinds of higher education institutions: Universities (located in Louvain, Bruxelles, Liège, Namur, Gembloux, Mons) and a non-university higher education network, which develops educational programmes for professional or artistic purposes (Institutes of Higher Education, Institutes of Architecture and Colleges of the Arts). These institutions cover a wide range of degrees, from the bachelor to the Ph.D. level.

The EAIE Conference gives you the opportunity to receive first hand information about these institutions and their programs. We invite you to meet with the representatives of universities and other higher education institutions on Wednesday 10th September from 10 a.m. The event will be hold at the magnificent “Palais des Académies”, located in the heart of Brussels, the capital of Europe (and of Belgium!).

After a global overview of the French-speaking Higher Education System, more detailed information will be provided on each institution. A lunch will be offered to the participants, before a presentation of the assets and the specificities of the French-speaking Higher Education institutions.

Full programme of 10th September 2008
